They would have been married for 61 years this month. Last employed by Appel Jeweler, Allentown, she and her band previously were the owners of Harvey's Cafe, Allentown, for many years. She was a former member of its board of trustees and Amarian Charity Society. She was an organizer of the SyrLebanese American Club in Naples, Fla. Achenbach, 88, of 539 Belfast Road, Nazareth, died Monday, June 29, in ManorCare Health Services, Palmer Township. He was the husband of the late Velma (Kellow) Achenbach. He worked for the Pennsylvania Game Commission, getting farmers to join the farm-game coop for 27 years until retiring in 1975. He also was a deputy game protector for 32 years until retiring in 1980 and a hunter safety education instructor for many years.

In addition, he worked for the former Kaiser Hosiery Mill, Bangor, for several years. Born in Belfast, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Emily (Wilson) Achenbach. He was a member and former deacon and elder of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Belfast.

He was: an auditor for Plainfield Township for several years. Achenbach was a founding father and first member of the Belfast-Edelman's Sportsman Association. A life member of the Pennsylvania Trappers Association, District 10, he received the Trapper of the Year award in 1985. He also received the Honorary Chapter Farmer award from the Future Farmers of America. He was a pheasant and quail propagator for more than 25 years and would sell the birds to the game commission and local rod and gun clubs.
