Conferred Transcripts with a Graduation Date: Current M-DCPS employees do not need to submit official transcripts if highest degree earned is on file in the Office of Personnel Records (305-995-7258). For external candidates, official transcripts will be required if you are recommended for the position. Your degree must be from an accredited university. If the position does not require a college degree, you are required to have at least a high school diploma. Candidates with academic training and degrees granted outside the U.S. must submit a credential evaluation report that includes a statement of degree equivalency from an accredited agency in the U.S.

Oral Interview Assessment Categories: Candidates invited to an interview will be assessed in the following areas:

Candidates will be invited to complete a written essay prior to the Initial Interview. Candidates who are successful in the Initial Interview will be invited to a Final Interview. Salary Min: $59,487.00Salary Max: $101,146.00Occupational SummaryResponsible for the planning, development, coordination and implementation of District-wide, state and federal assessment/testing programs. Assists District, Regional Centers, and school-site administrators in the interpretation and use of assessment results.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Coordinates with the Florida Department of Education and external contractors, all components required for the implementation of state assessment/testing programs.
- Serves as a liaison between the District office, Regional Centers, and schools relative to the federal, state and District-wide assessment/testing programs.
- Plans and coordinates the test administration activities for District, state, and national assessment/testing programs, such as preparing guidelines for testing, training school-level personnel, monitoring testing, and overseeing scanning and scoring.
- Coordinates and conducts customized testing-related workshops for teachers, school-site and central office administrators, and parent/community groups.
- Participates on state and District level committees and focus groups to provide input and make recommendations on issues and policies related to assessment and testing programs.
- Analyzes and interprets test data, prepares reports of test results, and communicates the findings of assessment/testing programs to the School Board, District offices, Regional Centers, school-site administrators, parents, and community groups.
- Supports District initiatives to improve student achievement by creating new reporting formats that facilitate the understanding and use of test scores; developing methods and guidelines to encourage teacher’s use of test score information; and assisting low performing schools to interpret test results in order to identify areas in need of improvement.
- Provides technical support and makes recommendations to District offices and schools on the design and/or selection of testing instruments for specialized needs, such as student placement, pupil progression, and program evaluation.
- Assists with procedures related to District and/or state initiated testing audits, monitoring, test security investigations, and/or court cases related to test security issues.
- Coordinates the District's initiatives regarding the development and use of performance-based, "alternative" assessment practices for the improvement of instruction.
- Provides technical support related to the development and use of item banks, subject area testing, practice tests, computerized assessment systems, data warehouses, and other assessment practices.
- Performs other duties related to general administrative responsibilities of the position.
Physical RequirementsThis work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Master's degree with specialization in educational measurement or related field.
- Three (3) years experience in educational evaluation/testing/assessment.
- Knowledge of measurement and research methodology, applied statistics and computer applications.
- Application experience in the areas of test scoring, test data analysis, item analysis, and the interpretation and application of test results.
- Ability to work cooperatively and constructively with staff and with multi-ethnic groups of students, teachers and parents as evidenced by training and job related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
